Abstract

The number of academic articles has increased as researchers focus on Community-based Adaptation (CBA) to flood. This paper seeks to investigate CBA responses to flood risk measures through bibliometric analysis. Evaluation and bibliometric analysis of 432 articles from 1979 to 2022 retrieved from the Scopus database is done. The VOSviewer software gives the study a visual representation of the authors, publications, organisations, and countries, as well as their effects on the research area. Harzing’s Publish or Perish gives the citation matrices and some indices and WordStat 9.0 software examined the frequencies of the metadata. This study gives academics interested in CBA strategies in the environment an overview of the subject as well as information on the most important publications, authors, citations and sources. The findings of this study provide direction for additional studies in this area. Without changing the metadata at any time during the study, the metadata of 432 journal articles that were written in English only was collected from the Scopus database and analysed at different times. The bibliometric mapping and analysis aid in the identification of emerging and important research trends. Decision and policy-makers should adopt CBA to reduce the effects of flooding and eventually incorporate CBA practices into current laws and regulations.
